I've just cracked the external plastic of my 05 Passat Estate.
How easy is it to replace the whole light housing? Does the bumper have to be taken off, or can I get one from a breakers yard and fit it myself?

I don't know about the Passat specifically, but most rear lights simply unbolt from inside the car. Make sure you get a decent seal when you refit it.
