Good grief...

It was all my fault. I reversed out of a basement parking space, forgetting that the pillar was on my left and not on my right! Extensive damage to door, but luckily confined to the door itself. I found one of ebay, it wasn't the right colour, but I didn't want to take the risk of waiting. Fitting the 'new' door was interesting, though I had a little help with everything. The lock was also transferred and it's hardly noticeable nowadays. Simple once you have done it once, but not a likely item on your CV.

In the meantime my cars has pickled up a couple of other body issues, totally without any involvement of mine. One is a curious dent under the door, suggesting that someone might have tried to lift it up during the night. But why? It's a total mystery? The catalyst perhaps? The other issues was made by a hit and run articulated lorry which started to swing into my near side when the light turned green. I indicated that he should follow me, he did for a short while but then got lost into an industrial estate as I was unable to turn around before the next roundabout.
