Help/Advice with various procedures on a Zantia 2.1 TD

Hi. I have a few requests for advice/help with regards to my 1997 Zantia

2.1 TD which are as follows.

When we have rain/damp weather, as soon as I get into the car, start the engine most if not all of the windows immediately steam up and the only way to clear it quickly is to turn the A/C on. Now I no this is not a big issue but the thing is I have to keep the A/C on all the time to keep the windows clear which seems a strange thing to have to do.

Second question - Is there an easy way to change the spare wheel if you happen to be by yourself only in my opinion it seems to me to be the most awkward procedure I have come across to perform this operation unless of course I am missing something.

Third Question. Just bought 4 replacement headlight bulbs to improve the visibility at night and thought the job to replace them would be a quick and easy job!!!!!! Now it will not be a problem removing the battery on the right but how do you remove the big plastic box behind the headlight on the left (viewed from the front) It does not tell you in the Haynes manual. There is probable an easy answer to all the above questions but your help and/or advice will be most welcome.

Regards Tony

the misting is probably one of two things: the pollen filter has not been replaced as per schedule or the heater is on recirculate or something is stuck giving the same effect as recirculate.

As for the other bits: these are the sort of problems you should expect on a French vehicle.

I sometimes get that on mine. I suspect that there may be a blocked drain hole somewhere. Funnily enough if you start off using the AC then you seem to be stuck using it to clear the windows for that journey.

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly whilst the car is on the ground. Put suspension onto high setting and run the engine until it lifts its self up. Wind up the jack and place under jacking point then return suspension to normal setting and watch the wheel miraculously lift itself of the ground. The hardest part is replacing the spare wheel into the holder under the car. Heaven only knows what you would do if you didn't have sufficient upper body muscle.

Personally I just suffer the cut hands that the procedure requires. Mine's a 1.9 TD so is probably an earlier generation to yours so I have the ECU box there and I just remove the lid which gives me an extra inch or so (fnarr, fnarr)
