Just fitting new brake shoes to 1988 Passat (I think other models are similar). I can't for the life of me work out how the upper return spring is fitted. I had a good look at the setup before removing brake shoes, I've done it several times before, but must be having a 'senior moment' The Haynes manual pictures are not clear on this point. Are there any pictures on the web? (I've tried Googling but with no luck so far)

Hi Chris, I have never done a Passat, but when I have got to reline the brakes on something I never had dealings with before, I reline one side at a time, that way you can always have a look at the other side if your not too sure. Sorry the above is not helpful in this case, but you will find it useful in the future.
