I want to deactivate car immobiliser

Still battling with power draining from my Rover 220 battery. Removed the fuses for everything except car ignition, and the drain seemed to stop But unfortunately to actually start the car I had to replace the one fuse that is for the alarm and central locking (as without it the car is immobilised). Overnight the power drained away again! The car is 14 years old - I don't need the alarm - but it is a big secret as to turning it off. I have tried googling, and did discover how to reset the alarm with much key-waggling but not how to turn it off. GTS

Go into the boot and locate the manufacturers central locking and immobiliser/alarm module. Disconnect that and see if it cures it. I've known them suffer from water ingress in the past.

Obviously there's a reason for that! It's a security device, and not meant to be deactivated easily - if you could do that, it would be pointless for security. While I sympathise with your problem, I suspect you're going to have a hard time doing it successfully.
