Just bought a new (old!) car. VW Golf 94. On the wing the laquer is peeling and I was wondering whether a laquer spray could be used to seal it up.
Also bonnet has lost its lustre, and feels quite rough. How can I get a smooth finish back?
Any help much appreciated.

If the lacquer is peeling it suggests it has been respayed at some time, Can you confirm this via a close inspection?.
DIY lacquer repair is unlikely to be a success, Get a quote from a reputable car body shop or at least get them to look at it first.
