Does anyone happen to know whether the pipe attached to the bolt (nut?) within the red rectangle is supposed to be loose:

The metal pipe moves within the union close to the bolt head. Looks as though it's crimped.There's an occasional smell of hot oil, thought it might be this. Oil consumption doesn't seem to be affected.
