Protecting wiring

I have just had a bonnet alarm switch fail due to the wires into the switch corroding (going green and breaking). If I solder them back on, how can I best prevent such corrosion.

Move the switch. Other than that, there's very little you can do apart from put a glob of silicon sealant or grease over it.
