Pug 406 Speedo Backlight prob

I'm posting this for a mate of mine.

Basically the digital readout of his mileage has suddenly lost (whatever it is that does the) illumination. This means that unless the sun (or whatever) is in a favourable position, he can't read the mileage.

He needs to read the mileage in order to be able to submit acurate expense claims to his employer.

What's involved in regaining the illumination. Is it simply a new bulb to give backlight illumination, or a more radical solution?

TIA

It's just a new bulb. You do have to take the instrument cluster out though.

Thanks, that's a relief! Didn't know whether it entailed a complete replacement of the display.
