Sill protectors?

Thanks Adrian. Do you know how tough it is? The wheelchair has a few sharp 'nobbly bits' that attach footplates etc, so it has actually chipped the paint, quite badly in parts.

Considerably although not invincible. The thing is though, a small local sign company should be able to supply you some from scrap. When it gets worn, peel it off and put another on.

What size do you need?

I would suggest making up a wooden platform for the floor pan resting on short stills 1-2" higher than the sill/rear bumper. A smaller piece attached with a piano hinge to the rear, straight edge of this platform can then be flopped over, once the tailgate is raised, protecting the sill/bumper from the wheelchair. Blockwood would be suitable for this project, and it need not be expensive. As the design is simple, if you have the measurements* ready, the local timber merchant can cut the pieces, ready for you just to screw them together.

One can guarantee to the hilt the wooden flop can protect the car from scratches and even dents. That cannot be said of a piece of carpet. Besides, the platform can be painted to colour-match the car exterior if desired. It is altogether a much more elegant solution. Accept it or not, the car has now become our mobile sitting room with comfortable sofas, hi-fi, TV and tea making equipment. A piece of flattened cardboard box or "a bit of old carpet" may well do the job after a fashion, but that, in a sitting room, speaks volume of class. In my mind's eye, the OP's Berlingo deserves better.

Did the OP *specifically* request a side entry only protection?! That was why I *purposefully* added "once the tailgate is raised" (otherwise this statement would be rather superfluous, won't it?) to emphasise this wooden flop was for rear entry, so there should be no misunderstanding.

Yes, they asked about sill protection for entry into the front passenger seat.

Any chance of a feq square inches for door shut switches etc? Is there stuff flexible enough to go round the edges of doors?

Doki - yes, I think I've found the stuff you mention. I'll try find a UK outlet, I get paranoid about ordering overseas with c/card. Until then I'll try Adrians idea.

Missus has a load of vinyl that size in the scrap bin. I expect most sign companies have.
