I was writing from experience! Emptying a supposedly nearly empty tank into a 25L container. Plenty of room, no worries ... oh bugger!
Yebbut not before he's got wet shoes that stink of petrol. It's uncanny how petrol that's taking ages to syphon suddenly speeds up the moment you need to stop the flow.
Or in my case realising that the 25L plastic container now weighed 25Kg and I'd need to lift it high enough to syphon back into the other car.
Depends on the car.
Have a look under the fuel tank - you might find a rubber connector hose between the tank and the metal pipe that carries the fuel to the front of the car - for example, 95 Cavalier has a fuel filter bolted to the back axle, with hose connections to the tank and the main fuel pipe...
If you got something like this, you know what to do ... - but make sure you get the feed pipe to the front of the car, not the return from it. And have a look at the cars workshop manual to see if and how you need to depressurise the system first (usually pull a fuse, start the engine, and wait until it stops - about 5 seconds!)
NB makes a mockery of locking petrol caps doesn't it!

Got there in the end, connected a piece of pipe to the Fuel Pump intake (or whatever it's called), had to short the Fuel Pump relay switch to keep it pumping, but got every last drop out - took around an hour but it was worth it.

Depends on the model I suspect but on my old one there is a hose that goes onto the end of the injector rail that had constant pressre in it with the ignition on. Look for a blue Schrader cap and undo the flexi pipe next to it.
