Rear View Mirror

Some time ago I asked if anyone knew how to tighten up a loose rear view mirror. It that sagged at the ball joint between the mirror itself and the mounting stalk every time I hit even a small bump. I looked, but could find no way to tighten it. So, still under warranty, I went to the dealer for a replacement. While the mechanic was inspecting it, he pushed the whole assembly forward into the mounting plate that is glued to the windshield. Ever since, the mirror has stopped drooping! Apparently, pushing the mount forward tightens up the ball-swivel parts of the mounting - kind of like how pushing on the eyeball vents in the dash holds them in place. Who would have thought?

Don't be too surprised if it loosens up again!
