1996 S-10 Rear View Mirror Problem

Jul 05, 2003 4 Replies

I have a 1996 S-10 LS (with the lamps on the rear view mirror, I'm not sure they all have them), and the rear view mirror fell off. I have gotten a repair kit (glue) for it, but the instructions say the mirror shouldn't be on the bracket to be glued, as it has too much weight. I can't seem to find just how to remove the mirror assembly from the bracket so I can glue it up. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jason

Just glue it without taking the mount off. If you can hold it up on there tight for about 3 minutes it will set enough to hold. be sure to scrape off all the old glue first.

Hey, don't bother with the glue that comes with the remount kit, just use clear silicone and tape the little metal tab in place till it's dry. believe me, the remount kit will fall off faster than it did from new.
