Not anymore, but I did look at them. Tough call.

Don't think you could go wrong with either car but I have not read any reviews stating that the Honda Accord Euro gearbox is FAR SUPERIOR than the Mazda 6. Both get excellent reviews.

I did it too.... ended up with the Accord Coupe EX V6. I really like the styling of the Mazda 6 but the Accord Coupe has really grown on me.

I couldn't stand the interior of the Mazda 6 and seeing that I spend most of my time stuck in traffic... the interior of the Accord bought me over. Another factor was reliability... which hands down goes in favor of Honda. The Mazda 6 did have a better (sporty) drive then the Accord.

Also there was an issue with rust on the Mazda 6... happening on the doors. Search for it on Google or visit some Mazda 6 forums to see what you find!

the rust problem has been addressed by mazda, so if you are buying a new vehicle you dont have to worry about that, just the early models had that issue in some parts of canada! I have driven both the Mazda 6 auto and the Accord V6 auto, and the shifting of the mazda auto gearbox is much better than the accord, very smooth and precise, although both were excellent, i didnt end up buying either of them but if i were to go with an auto i would definatly take the mazda 6.. however if i wanted a standard i would have taken the accord coupe v6 6spd, best drive by far!!

Regarding your comment on the reliability of the mazda 6 i thought i would look into it and found the mazda 6 has 2 technical service bulletins for

2003: TSB Number Issue Date TSB Title 1.. S01898 APR 03 Body - Wind Noise Around Doors 2.. 0102902 APR 03 Exhaust System - Sulfur Smell and well the accords list for 2003 is here (both ae the V6 models):

Hey Jon,

That's good research and I never claimed the Mazda 6 un-reliable. What I did mean is that IMO Honda has a better track record for reliability. I'm sure the 6 is a good and it has to be in order to compete.

But you point is taken, and what you say is true!

; Hmmm, Mazda claims it's not corrosion but a stain from a "saline-esque ; corrosive". Geez - sounds like weasel words to me.

It's a wardrobe malfunction.
