MB used automatic gearbox with 3 gears in SL/SLCs between years eg.1970-1980.
Are those gearboxes reliable?
Eg.if i bye an 450 SL(1979) with mileage about 200 000 is it possible that gearbox will fail?

The so-called W3A-040 is very reliable. They were used in all US- model cars with the 4.5 liter engine 1972-1980.
