HAVE A 1976 300D AND THE KEYS, AS MY MOTHER USED TO SAY, HAVE GROWN LEGS AND FEET AND WALKED OFF. BEST CURRENT SUGGESTIONS FOR THIS DILEMA??

Go to your local MB dealer with the vin number and order a key direct from MB.
Yep... like Karl said. You will need proof of ownership... so bring your registration and driver license too.
