Moss 2100cc Stage 2 - Performance?

Hi All,

I've been considering purchasing the moss super-charger for my rubber bumpered 1980 MGB GT. Having spoken with the local MG specialists - they've recommended that I spend the same money on replacing the engine, via Moss's exchange scheme (My standard spec 1.8, for a new

2.1).

As my current engine would need overhauling anyway before a supercharger was fitted, I'm wondering if simply upgrading to a larger capacity engine (plus weber carb) would be a better solution.

I'm looking for an overall performance improvement - to bring the car inline with more modern cars...

I've heard the supercharger gives a 30bhp improvement? Any idea how a

2.1 litre + weber would compare?

Any comments? Or suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve
