I have just bought a second hand hard top, previously fitted to an MGF, for my June 04 TF. The top has now fitted fine but I'm having trouble with the heated rear window switch and relay which I got with it.
The switch will not fit the opening in the fascia and the one connector behind the switch opening will not fit the back of the switch. I've been told by my local MG garage that the switch was changed for the TF. Can someone confirm that that is correct please or have I chosen the wrong blank to remove? It's the second from left and I can't see another wired connector.
More of a problem is the relay. The one which came with the top is yellow and is marked YWB 000410, 4190069 and 40A 12VDC. It has 4 spade terminals in a square, 3 of them parallel and one at right angles to the others. Unfortunately, none of the empty relay sockets on the fuse/relay board below the steering wheel have sockets to match this pattern. However, my local dealer says that he doesn't have another relay listed! Can anyone confirm that the relay has been changed recently (and offer a part number!)? Would an additional relay like the ones fitted be suitable? They are marked YWB 000440, 4290012 and 20/10A 12VDC. Or is the socket on another board?
The problem doesn't end there. I understand that the relay should be fitted in the bottom right socket but this has no wiring behind it. There is only one spare relay socket with wiring and this is on the left hand side of the relay cluster.
