WarningMake your own decisions from this information,here's what happened to my neighbour,1999/2000 Citroen Xsara saloon Diesel,Just left motorway, and pulled in to his road and "twang"snapped coil spring on o/s/front , the sharp edge of the spring then pierced the tyre, in this case, all this happened at low speed, so no injuries, just vehicle damage, contacted Citroen dealer who saidAlthough there is a recall on Xsara Picasso, and other models,, " front spring collars are being fitted"The dealer will no doubt tell you the collar is to prevent the spring slipping off the strut,I think its to prevent the spring piercing the tyre, in the event of spring breakage,According to the dealer, the Xsara is not included in this recall, and yet suffers the same defect, anyone know of any other Xsara's breaking front coil springs and damaging tyres,Fitzy
