how do i now if the car is fuel injected or just a carb

Open the bonnet. If it is a carb it should have a round frying-pan like air filter pan on the top of the engine. If it is fuel injected, it will say something similar to 'ECI' or something like that. Being a Astron II 2.6L 4G54B engine, pre 1990, I'd say it's just a carb.
