Hi, i'm looking at buying a 93 summit sedan. it has 220 on it, i just want to know from the experts if its worth it, i mean in terms of the parts and fuels economy and also reliability. According to the guy whos selling it, he well maitained the engine, so any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

Hi, What is 220? My wife has a '92 Summit Wagon, AWD with 2.4 liter engine. Logged over

180K Km so far. Tim> Hi, i'm looking at buying a 93 summit sedan. it has 220 on it, i just want

Well, 220,000 km or miles I would guess. If its km, find out when or if the timing belt was changed. If its miles, same, and get a compression test and/or an emissions test if resale requires it. At this sort of milage, Mitsu engines often (but not always) start to need valve stem seals. If its automatic, does it select Drive quickly, (or take 3-5 seconds)? how about quick changes and kick down? If in doubt, have it checked by a transmission shop. If Drive select and changing and seem normal, and the shop says the trans needs fixing, run , and get another opinion.

If a manual, check 1->2 synchros. These tend to get a bit tired and slow, unless the car is at last a 95.

If the car is in otherwise good condition, it should be fine.
