Yes, I have a receiver hitch on my '97 and it was advertised to work on all g2's. Not much good, though, for anything much bigger than a jet ski trailer or a bike rack (which is what I use mine for). I think it only has a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs.
Search for 'Eclipse Hitch' on ebay and you'll find one for $132.43. Also, I would recommend you let the folks at your local U-Haul do the installation. They only charged me $50 to do the fairly unpleasant job.
