I think that for something that lives behind a huge, peened nut, the the design of the PSA brakes under discussion could have made the mechanism a bit less idiosyncratic.

I've never actually had the wheel alignment checked.

The rear tyres wear beautifully evenly though. As do the fronts when not subjected to the rigours of Knockhill.

I guess it won't take much to make it behave funny. It's unbelieveably sensitive to tyre pressures.

My wifes 2000 W reg Ibiza is still on its original battery. It went flat once when we came back from holiday, but I jumped it and it's been fine ever since. That was about 5 years ago.

It needs an exhaust now and an oil change to continue being boring / reliable.

So, any complaints about the gearbox int he Mazda 4x4 pickups? You know the one that is cited as ultra-reliable like all Mazda products. The same gearbox that is in the Explorer?

Perhaps you can explain why in the Mazda mechanics and reliability surveys call the vehicle and gearbox reliable and in the Explorer know-nothign mechanics claim that it's unreliable, but oddly enough survery find that it's as reliable as the Mazda gearbox that it is?
