As one or two of you already know, I will be becoming the proud owner of a new (1) Peugeot 207 1.6 VTi Sport at the end of the month, and so I will be getting rid of the Fabia.

If I've no success selling it on privately, I'll be trading it in on the day.

Details:

Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi PD Comfort 75

First registered July 2004

Metallic Grey

MOT til August 22nd 2008 Taxed til 31st July 2008

By the time I've stopped using it, it'll have covered 31k from new, and has full service history, with the next service due at 37k.

Reasonably spacious for a smaller car and has the following spec:

Electric front windows Electric heated mirrors Air con Fuel computer Remote locking / deadlocks / immobiliser (two keys)

Is obviously in excellent condition throughout, with a couple of stone chips and one or two scuffs on the hubcaps being the only signs of use, and drives superb.

Fuel computer works along the same VAGoptobull scales, and so I've bothered to work out in real terms as an example, if I do my usual motorway / outskirts of London run into work of a Saturday with me sitting between 80 to 90mph, it returns 53mpg.

Does more on B road bimbles.

Genuine reason for sale: I don't smell of wee (just yet, anyway), and I wanted something a bit more sporty really... that and I've got a cracking deal on its replacement.

=A34895 - located in Kent.

Photos available on request.

(1) Well, pre-registered with 9 miles on the clock.

Is the VTi a diesel or petrol? I test drove the 207 GTi THP 175 not long ago. Was quite nice. Wasn't very fast, and felt very big, but was super comfy and felt really solid. Lots of nice kit on it as well. Appeared to hang on and grip to obscene limits, although I didn't push it too hard. Overboost was cool.

Non turbo petrol.

It's no 106 GTi, but it's pretty well specced. :-)

Indeed... impressive given I paid =A35995 for it just under five months ago. ;-)

110bhp 1.6 16v? My 206 had that engine :-) It never broke (serviced once in 38k miles by a garage that managed to miss the fact the front brake pads were shagged, and top up the brake fluid instead - so whether it ever had the oil changed is anyones guess), revs well but feels quite pokey low down as well.

Nope - 120bhp variable valve timed donk, shared with the newer Mini Coopers - more flexible and does another 6mpg overall, allegedly.

huh didn't know that i did know the 07 onwards cooper s used the 175bhp turbo'd jobby though. i'd rather have the mini than the 207 though personally.

Early 207 1.6s' appear to have used something along the lines of what Iridium had in his 206.

So would Mrs JackH... but you wouldn't even get a crap spec Mini for anywhere near what I'm paying for the 207.

I've no intention of keeping it beyond the end of the warranty period, so plenty of time for the bits that will inevitably fall off to be stuck back on at the dealers expense. ;-)

'BTTT', as they elsewhere on the net.

"Spleshel bargin... much cheapness" - will accept =A34595 if gone by the end of the week, otherwise it'll be being traded in at the dealers on the 26th.

I really don't think anyone here has four and a half grand for a diesel hatch. I've got about 20 pee.

Hmm, yes... I ought consider 'surfing somewhere less pikey' in future. ;-)

Anyway... it is now going to be traded in at the main dealers, as the heavy rain of the last few days has revealed that the left hand rear door is *still* leaking, albeit not as badly as when I first owned it, even though this was supposed to have been sorted by the supplying dealer under warranty about three months ago.

The dealer is giving me =A34300 for it... I get to cash the tax in too, so that's another =A360ish, plus the finance company have knocked another =A3130ish off the settlement figure for this if traded in over what would be due if I just clear the balance myself and dispose of the car privately, so I'm at =A34490 as it is once I've had the refund on the tax.

For what little extra privately over that it might fetch privately(1), I'd rather just trade it in with a clear conscience knowing whichever dealer ends up punting it out off their forecourt will be obligated to sort it out for the new owner, and will be able to justify paying some monkey to strip the offending door in question back down without making that big a dent in the mark up they'll invariably make on it.

(1) I've had interest at =A34795 over at 'another place' since I updated the price in here... even if it realised the full money, I still reckon it's less grief all round to chop it in and be done with it, as I can't be arsed to faff around getting 'a man in' to sort it out before it goes, either.
