Hmm. If you had £25k to spend on a ca r...

SL350 or SLK 350 from auction before the summer gets too far in and the prices go skywards. Problem with the SL will be parting with it afterwards.

You might want to do some research as to why they've suddenly become so sought after - Googleing for "Initial D" might be a good starting point.

Depends on the spec - there are modified ones about with more interesting spec for a lot less money, but good, low-mileage original cars are *very* scarce and that drives up values.

*shudder*

That's some serious scene-tax over a comic that'll be forgotten next year.

At which point, it's still a Corolla. Which, if you use it, rapidly becomes a non-low-mileage one.

It's Jap.

Yeah, I guess that's the same people said about other cars that are in demand. And I guess it's also only the comic that has pretty much all decent AE86s go to Ireland and obviously nobody is using one as a drift car, either.

Leaving aside it being unlikely anybody's going to pay that much for a 1- owner ultra-low-mileage damn-near-concours drift car, are you really telling me it's better drift fodder than an Elise, E55 or XKR or 3.9 Ginetta or TVR or Sierra Cos or any of the other stuff on PistonHeads for that money?

And the auction's still got a week to run!

Yeah but it has already been going for 3-4 years.

About as useful as my Integra or my 911 as a drift car

No locker diff IIRC

Out of that list, the only one I can see being used as a drift car in any serious form would be the Cossie, and that's got its own scene tax.

So? The bit you don't seem to get is that this car in its current form is considered a desirable classic by some and they're willing to pay for that.

Whilst this is true, it does mean it's a demonstrably better car than the equivalent Crapi.

Oooh. Better than a mid-80s 1600 Crapi.

Difficult task. You sure it's up to it?

Lol. 2CVs, 1600 Crapis, Jap crap. It's a race to the bottom...

You think I'm daft enough to pay that much for one?
