How many kilobytes on a 100G hard disc then?
cheers, clive
100g = 1.048576e+008
100Gb = 100 * 1024Mb = 100 * 1024 * 1024Kb
So 104,857,600 bytes.
(I'll assume you meant 104587600 kilobytes)
Nope. It's 97,656,250K.
Why? HDs are specified in decimal gigs/megs, and I think it's probably because it makes them seem larger.
A press release from NTL says they are rolling out 10meg across all there users (planning single speed for all levels but with different download caps) this year for the current 3meg customers and everyone else next year.
"The first home surfers in the UK to enjoy speeds of up to 10Mb will be ntl's current 3Mb Broadband customers. ntl will provide them with more speed and greater usage, at no extra cost per month. By the end of this year they will have a connection of up to 10Mb, while their usage allowance will increase from 30GB to 75GB per month."
Are you high?
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream - YKIMS :)
Ok, now all you need to do, is get the much better weather, less crowded roads, and NTL rolled out everywhere, and we're sorted.
I can't get NTL. *sob*
Don't be so upset about it NTL seems to spend as long not working as working.
It's not just me then?
Maxtor drives are very shock / vibration sensitive - seagate are the best...
Are you in a telewest area? Word is they are merging sometime in the next year or so...
Nope... even they don't come this far.
Ahhh.
Oh right, that sounds pretty interesting. Do you do all that cine conversion and stuff then?
Where in the country are you? Thier service isn't too bad in Warrington. It used to be Cable & Wireless / Nynex before NTL though, dunno if that makes much difference.
If i have a .avi file of the Initial D live action movie, and an .srt file which is the subtitles for said movie, how do i make the subtitles show on the movie?
If Sleeker can't help - anyone else got any ideas?
I think it depends on the connection you have. Back when i had it in Lincoln, the 1mb service we had was very reliable, whereas the 600k service i knew a few people with was a bit flaky. And general opinion online suggested the top service was a lot more stable.
This may of course be a load of crap.
I have an old 120 gig Maxtor drive, every now and again my power supply fan whines a little... so I wack the case a few times and it stops ;) So I wouldn't say they are *that* sensitive!
