just picked up a r5 1.4l auto 1989. Starts and drives fine at mo. got no manual or hbol, there is a yellow light on rhs of cluster that lights up when you turn ign on and goes out again. The owner said it some times flickers on and off while driving. The Symbol is a pulse/zigzag horizontal direction in a rectangle. Any one know what that is?

Engine management. If its the C type push rod with injection you'd be best to leave it alone and suffer the bulb.
its too dark now, but it has a carb on it.
Incoherency indicator?

It is definately the injection light but if you sign up over there we'll be able to help fix it
