Should still be better. 405 had the best ride and handling in class, for a LONG time, and it's a MUCH more modern design than the Saab :) Although it obviously depends how worn the setup is, on both your Saab and the Pug :)

BTW, more bad news. One rear door doesn't open. Appears to be jammed > shut, so may have had a bump. But it drives straight, no tracking or > alignment probs when driven.

What do you expect on a £250 car :) You sure it's not the mechanism that's pooped ?

Could also be about 1,000 other things. Don't spend big money unless certain !

Yup - masses of boot space.

It's on the disc, and it's crap. Read my other post ! Even if you strip and clean the auto adjust, and replace the cables, it may still have no effect. This *IS* usually the case, and you need to replace half the rear calliper(s) - £60 each from your local Unipart supplier. Well worth it though - the handbrake will then be fine. As it is, you won't pass the MOT.

Yeah. What I think is, he will drive it till the MOT expires (this HB doesn't hadly hold the car on the flat, fully up you can push the car with it on), see what else it needs, if not much else, do the work. other wise flog it for an engine donor.

Can't blame him for £200

Actually, in the phot it does look that way, but it is just holding a goodly layer on Manchester crap, and brake dust.

Of the BX 16 Valve and the Mi16, the BX was the better car, despite looking like crap. The BX was a seriously scary motor, especially for the money. However I doubt that many of them survive in good nick. The Pug was heavier and duller and duller and duller.

In article , usenet- snipped-for-privacy@malloc.co.uk spouted forth into uk.rec.cars.modifications...

Uncle used to have a BX Diesel. Not a bad mover for an Oil burner of the old style. Citroen build weird ut interesting cars, at least they used to.
