For the first time ever, I agree with you. Thanks for sharing all your temptations with us :)

I'd love one of those, my friend (still a Lancia addict) was speaking to some guy who bought one with 500k miles on the clock, really cheaply.

Apparently it costs him less to run than his old Lancia Thema did!

I'd go for one, with an LPG conversion it'd be perfect. They are bloody huge though. Are they bigger than a Rover 800? I managed in one of those for a while.

Ho yus. The standard S-class is bigger than an XJ Jag in all dimensions (certainly XJ40/X300, not sure about the latest one) and this one's the LWB version. Park it facing West and it'll straddle time zones.

The boss has just bought himself an ex Manchester footballers S55 Carlsson V8 Compressor as a Weekend car, for when he can't be arsed taking The F550 or the 911 turbo out.

LOL!! Shurely you don't really need to ask that?!

But yeah, one of them with an LPG conversion would be absolutely sweet!

It is when you think what he spends in petrol he could have given us all that pay rise that he has forgotten about for the 3rd year running.

What a git, flouncing around in these cars, blatantly creaming it off what he's not paying you guys and having the cheek to rob you by the rate of inflation each year.

What's the turnover and profit of your company? Boss of my place drives a Mazda Xedos 6 and a Harley Davidson. Person with the flashest car in the company (Audi TT) is many pegs down from that! I guess we're just not flash with our cash. Or we're all forced to work in and live close to Wilmslow, so we can't afford nice cars! Take me for example in my '86 micra!

And standing outside talking to a client, while members of staff are there with him, and showing off by saying "It's just my weekend car really".

Sounds like a Nouveau Riche prick to me. Cheshire is swarming with them isn't it!

I'm sure they could. But then total strangers wouldn't get to see mr generous with a huge wad of notes, handing over the readies to his ever so grateful and contented, but socially deprived workers.

Er, doesn't that make the clients think he's over charging them ???

Obvious big profits should be kept secret !

A friend of mine is in the same game as you, and his firm has very strict rules about the type of car that has to be used to go and meet clients in !

Ah the sales staff all drive Golf TDIs and GTi's (opwn cars, not companies) although one has a boxster and another has a 406 Coupe.

Used to have aguy with an M3. The front of the building has a varied selection on a day to day basic of Saab 9000 Aero, BMW X5, Ferrari F550, Porsche 911T, Merc C36AMG, Merc S55 Carlsson, Merc ML, Toyota Landcruiser, Audi A3, Audi S3, Audi A4 TDi depending on who is in (among the directors, senior engineers, senior sales, and senior techies).

The rest of use get scattered in various hidden places on the carpark to avoid being seen by customers in our various modern bidget hatches (rover 200, Astra Coupe etc), or beaten old semi sporty cars (Beemer

320, My Celica etc)

I remember doing a gig on New Year's Eve down in Devon, where we got paid a reasonable amount, plus an unlimited bar tab. That was quite cool. I've got a feeling the landlord ended up a bit pissed off when he saw how much of a tab we'd run up! But the landlady was quite friendly, and let us sit around til around 2-3am-ish helping ourselves from behind the bar. Then we all left and went back to our B+B, whilst the singer stayed, played something other than pool on the pool table with the landlady, and had to get a separate cab back to the B+B.

That would be telling. You might think they make too much money to do business with.

i was just curious.

From a business point of view we would get your full financial details anyway, we do this for all potential clients \ suppliers \ partners.

i think i might have a reasonably good idea who you work for, but i would not be rude enough to post my guess in an open forum, unless i have your permission to have a guess ;-)
