The 911, a mini review.

You were *very* unlucky.

I've had two 405s for a total of about 5 years, and the only none-trivial faults I ever had were a leaky heater-matrix on the Mk2 (sorted under warranty), and the Mk1 occasionaly jumped out of 3rd gear when you lifted off. Both were getting on for 100k when I got rid of em, and the interiors were still immaculate. Do you wear studded clothes or something ?

Not that I know off and the other cars seem not to be affected.

The concerned vehicles were intervention vehicles meaning that they drive trips of about 4-10 km, stop, intervention and then onto the next client. So an average day is about 10 shortish drives and we accept a faster wear and tear on clutch/starter etc.

The drivers seat of the second 405 was in ruin (cloth uses, ripped etc) after less than 50.000 kilometers.

We now have VW Caddy (100 k)/ Citroen Berling (140k) / Skoda Octavia (160k)/ Opel Vectra Break (40k) and aSubara Legacy(100k). Interiors are fine except for the Subaru but that's not worrying: the replacement (subaru legacy combi 3.0 R) is ordered :-)
