Tyre Question

i'd love to if i had to £. What il prolly do now is get two 195x45 tyres and put them on the front - stop any chance of damage and put the speedo back to within a couple of %. Il then stick the existing 195x50's on the rear, wont cause any harm, will just make it a bit more comfy for passengers. BTW Nom, do you know where the speedo measures speed from? is it just from the front axle? If so having 50s on the back wouldn't effect the readout, it would just show the speed of the 45s? Thanks Dazz

Yup - that's what I suggested earlier ! You can get away with the 195/50s until they wear out - but your 185/55 are simply too big.

The gearbox.

Yes.

Correct :)

It's the mechanical gearing of the actual speedo, for so many hundreds or thousands of RPM of the speedo take off from the gearbox.

Some can be taken down, and re-geared, to match the new drive speed.
