Wow. I bet that's slow...

Spotted behind a local garage...

Suzuki Swift "Executive" automatic. Tiny 1986ish Suzuki, proudly claiming to have "Climate Control" on the rear D-pillar window, and looking inside, it really was an automatic and really did have A/C.

That's gotta be rare, and damn slow, though.

Was that the one with the 3 cylinder engine?

Don't know, because I don't know Swift history all that well. It's the shape better known for donating bits to Novas, not the Geo Metro/Subaru Justy clone shape (though I think the Justy previous shared bits with this shape of Swift).

That's partly because the Mini's auto box - especially at the time - was a marvel of efficiency. 4 speeder, too.

No. Although I'm having trouble finding a reference, I am 99% sure all the A-series automatic transmission in sump models have 4-speed boxes. Infuriatingly I can't find anything about it on the Austin-Rover website, which confuses me as I'm sure I've seen it there.

Was it for sale and how much if so?

I believe you are correct in it being a 4 speed and well ahead of the recent trend to more the 3 in the search for greater auto efficiency. Wiki mentions it a 4 speed

. The box IRC was designed and built by AE and a similar box design was used in the Lancia Beta autos.

It looked like scrap. If you're seriously interested, I'll ask, but the roof is dented for starters.

Balls. Wouldn't be that slow though, if it has the same 1.3 engine mine did - that little thing flew, with totally linear power delivery. Fantastic engine.

The Mini and Metro knocked into fourth at about 30 mph if you were gentle... :)
