want mine in hot pink with the words "Honda hoochie" on the hood. LOLAnyone remember a Chevy 350 powered Honda CRV. I saw it the first time Iwent to Moroso 'bout 5 years ago or a SC Chevy 420(Corvette eng?) in aNissan 240. With a big enough hammer I guess you can fit any motor into any car. I want do a cobra/moped hybrid. hehehe

And I like small women that I can move around on top of a desk, and huge women that can occupy me for hours.

You have to determine your priorities, you can't have it all.

Yeah, the Mustang has four seats, but don't plan on stuffing adults back there, at least not for any length of time.

Overall, probably not quite as good as the Miata, but decent.

Go do some test driving.

If I were you, I would not consider a V6 Mustang though. I'd get a GT! But if the Mustang GT's power doesn't hook you, buy a Miata... then later stuff a GT-40 5-liter motor between its frame rails...

I have a "02 Mustang GT vert.. My brother bought a '03 Miata this summer. They are both great cars. The Miata does use premium fuel, while the Mustang is happy with regular.

Both cars are part of the Ford family. A freund was able to get my brother and myself the X plan which saved us lots of money.

Real men are secure enough in their manhood not to worry about the image of a car. That said, I see alot more women than men driving Mustang and Miata convertibles.

Yes, more women own Miatas and Base Mustangs, but more middle-aged men own Mustang GT convertibles.

Sounds like a Ph. D psuedo-interlectual trying to spout off some drivel about manliness and security. Bah!

Yellow...and you lay claim to him? When I see Yellow Mustangs, I cringe - Yellow is JUST NOT a Mustang color...

He can't be a big truck driver - otherwise you'd have to fit him in the Miata with a shoehorn and cut him out with a can opener.

If you haven't looked at a Toyota MR2, they are quite nice. Mid Engine, RWD - is an awful nice drivetrain.

They are also not as dirt common as Mustang's and Miatas.

Bad thing is they have no back seat.

Convertible wise, in your price range (since it looks as if you are considering slightly used) you can probably find:

Dodge Sebring (may or may not be getting the division right - could be Chrysler) - NOT a sports car, but has a rear seat, and arguably has a sporty design. It has the largest trunk of all the models, and most comfortable rear seat. It is very common, at least in the States.

Toyota Solara - NOT a sports car, but has a rear seat. Built on the earleir Camry platform, so has proven reliability. I think they are pretty sporty, and if you wanted it would be easy to modify. They are noticable, because they are not too common.

Toyota MR2 - True Sports car - Six speed auto/manual transmission combo (better technical terms available, but that explains it well enough). No backseat, and very little trunk space. However, it is a bit more performance oriented than the Miata, has a Mid Engine RWD platform, which will eat up the curves, and it's not dirt common.

Mazda Miata - True Sports Car. Front Engine, RWD is a little less stable than Mid engine/RWD. Proven reliability and easy as pie to find parts for. Near non existent trunk space.

Ford Mustang - (I have only tried the GT and Cobra) Not a true sports car in the way that Miata and MR2's are. However, it is the closest to a true Sports car of the convertibles with a rear seat. Worst Gas mileage (probably even with the V6 - as this car is more weighty. Of all these convert's which I have recently tested all of the above, it has the WORST body flex. It has a good trunk. It is however, dirt common. The modular V-8 is bullet-proof reliability wise, and parts are relatively easy to find. Also easiest car (along with Miata) - to find junkyard parts.

I am still debating personally which of the above to get. However, for fun factor - all practicality aside - the Toyota MR2 was the best model. I do, however, live in the mountains, so twisty road driving is a must for me. The Mustang, and Sebring had the most body roll, and the Mustang's power was useless for the real twisty driving.

Freeway wise, the Sebring and the Solara were most comfortable, and the Mustang, had the best power. The Miata, and the MR2 felt extremely small on the freeway next to the myriad of SUV's and minivans.

Stylewise - well that's personal preference.

My ranking would be:

  1. Toyota MR2

  1. Ford Mustang

  2. Mazda Miata

  1. Toyota Solara

  2. Dodge Sebring

A Miata is much more of a drivers car than a Mustang. They don't have much room, however. I own both. They really don't compare, because they're two different kinds of cars. I find the Mustang a more useable car, overall. If I could only have one, it would be the Mustang, but I sure would miss the Miata.

Ok seriously why did you (whoever originally asked) come to a Mustang newsgroup & ask this question? I mean... I wouldn't have asked for a comparison like this on a newsgroup for one of the cars. You're bound to get biased answers. :/
