85 T. Bird thermactor

If I remove my thermactor or smog pump and accessories will this create a trouble code and put my computer into open loop. Any information be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

It will probably set the MIL and will most likely generate air management system codes... I'm not sure if this will initiate FMEM or not.

Having said that, is there a particular reason for removing these emissions controls? The Thermactor pump adds an unnoticeable parasitic power drain and without the system connected and functioning, the convertors may rarely "flash off". I don't want to get preachy but I still don't think we should be defeating the emission controls on our daily drivers....
