Helbig,

We have the SRT-4 and the SRT-10. I was wondering where the SRT-8 was. Question answered.

Oh but that's not possible! If you add any power to the Hemi it'll explode!

So, will they call it an AMG? :) But really, can't they put these engines in cars that will be able to really compete with sport vehicles? IMO, it's going to be a poor man's Audi A8.

Rich,

The new 6.1 is going to find its way under the hood of upcoming Charger.

What I'd like to see is a 2-door SRT-8!

Patrick, I'm not trying to pick the fly shit out of the pepper, but just why does this Hemi article have anything to do with Mustangs?

Anyone on this NG long enough knows Patrick is not brand loyal, wears no blinders and welcomes all the competition. Keeps things flowing in here plus it's good to occasionally touch base with the rest of the auto-world. A little variety now and then seems harmless. Even the Chebby and Mopar boys can sometimes (in a good way) talk about upcoming Ford news. We'll always have our fill of wall to wall Blue Oval. Patrict is keeping an open mind to the big picture, that's all....That's my take on it anyway.....

Kate,

We're going to crown you the "Feisty One". You ARE a scrapper.

Mike knows me.

Kate,

I grew up with Dodges, Chevys, Pontiacs, Fords, Mercurys and even AMCs. Growing up only about 50 miles from Detroit, I loved all things made by the Big Three and the Little One. Then around '84, I moved to the east coast. Wow! They mostly just drive foriegn cars down here! Being a car guy, I had to learn all about these imports. And I found the more I learned, the more I liked. Gosh, they have histories and performance models too. And learning about them was like finding out I had only been reading the even chapters of the Big Automotive Book. So ever since, I've been reading/learning about all makes and models, foreign and domestic. (shhhhhh... don't tell anyone, but I'm still a little biased towards the Detroit models... must be that Michigan blood.) So that's my story in a nut shell.

Since I'm this way, my views sometimes sort of spill over into my postings. But over the years, I found most people in here don't seem to mind too much. I think it's because a person who drives a Mustang can appreciate a hemi-powered Dodge, Z06 Corvette, a Chrysler that goes 136 mph in the 1/4 mile, and sometimes news about a stripped-down EVO called the MR.

For those who can't, I say it's always a good idea to know something about the cars that pull up next to you at stop lights... know what I mean?

Gotta admit those are nice numbers. Same HP/liter as Ford's hi-tech 4.6 DOHC N/A Cobra. Probably lots more torque. Probably the same or less space needed in the engine bay. Attention Ford engineers, you are being whipped.
