Dealer Attitudes

Salespeople operate that way. It works with an amazing number of people. The couple of times I've have had a saleperson try that tactic on me, I've simply said "Hey, if you want to be my salesperson, you've got to sell to me the way I want to be sold to, and this isn't working right now". In one case I remember, the salesperson apologized and then repeated the same exact tactic, and I politely said "it's not working" and walked out. In all the other cases, the conversation improved considerably. Show expect and expect respect, it's a simple contract, sometimes you just have to remind them.

I see ford dealers haven't changed since I was bought my '97 GT. Most of them were like this. And it was even worse with cobras.

I've been thinking of getting rid of the torqueless wonder car, using my '97 GT year round as a driver and getting something new and fun to keep nice. One of the contenders is an '06 cobra. But if the dealers act like this I'll buy something else.

Figures it would be that one. I've gotten similiar treatment there.

I'm glad you had a better experience than I did. I am optimistic that I'll find a salesman like that, as well. Just wanted to make sure that people out here were prepared for the type of treatment that I received this time.
