ever tried Desktop Dyno2000?

Hi, I'm considering building up a HO 302 for my 1978 King Cobra. I was thinking of using the Desktop Dyno2000 program to help me make decisions. Has anyone ever used this? What did you think of it?

I'm a registered owner of the program, along with their CamDisk 2 CD. It is a nice program if you want to see what effect any changes made to the motor will have, provided you enter the information in correctly, and you remember to allow aprroximately 10% for error. That is what I've been told by engine builders that use the program to show prospective customers a rough idea of what their motor will do, based on what the customer wants done. They then tell the customer what they recommend, and show them by making a few changes in the program, and the customer sees the results in real time. The program would be perfect if they added a CD with the flow data for the different heads and intakes, but with what you get, it will get you in the ball park.

I used it in building my 331 stroker. It was extremely helpful especially in the area of cam sellection. Just dont take its power numbers as gospel. It will get you real close and thats more than good enough.

A case in point.. I discovered that a slightly milder cam than recommended would actually make MORE total power with only a slight sacrifice at 6,000 rpm. Worth the expenditure for that information alone.
