At around 2100-2200 rpm I get a high pitched (somewhat quiet) "woooo" kinda noise. If I hold it at 2100 or so I can keep it constant. Anyone know what this is?

Is it at 2100 in every gear? If so, we can eliminate the tires, wheels, rearend, and driveshat.
Next questions--what year is the car? What engine? Any mods?

Well, there you go. Put your silencer back on, get rid of the woosh. ;-) The silencer removal doesn't really help the 4.6 SOHC cars anyway.... DOHCs either IIRC....

The air silencer was removed before I bought the car (used). Anyway... it's never made the noise in the past. Why would it start now?
