Power issue?

My 98 Mustang GT is acting up... on the gauges the light is dim.. like the gas & left side of the temperature gauge is dim compared to the rest which are bright like normal. Is this a power issue or a dying light bulb or something? I replaced the alternator about 2 months ago. Battery is about

10-12 months old. Thanks!

Sounds like one bulb went out. Behind the panel there are a few bulbs that light it at night. When one goes out, the area looks dim because of some of the over lapping light form the other working bulbs. Normally the bulbs outlast the car, but occasionally one may go bad prematurely. John

You da man. I went to O'Reilly & they told me light bulb 194 for my car... dammit they were wrong! It's lightbulb 161... but 194 is also listed for my car under "instrumental lighting".. dunno what 194 is for.. but it's DIM compared to 161's (which are exactly right). Anyway.. it came with 2 in the package so I replaced 2. I suppose I should have replaced 'em all, but I didn't think about it at the time. It's easy to replace 'em anyway so it's no biggie. I appreciate your help man... was very helpful =). Take care. Oh btw.. took about 30 minutes b/c I've never done it before ;D.
