"Power Mod" Resistor

Ok ok... I admit it.. I broke down & tried it. I found out exactly which resistor it was & went to Radioshack & bought a 5-pack for $0.99. That's about $0.20/resistor. I hooked it into my IAT sensor... let the car idle 10 mins.. turned her off.. turned her on (hush)... took her for a spin.. MY LORD!! My car has NEVER been so bogged down! It felt like I had 5-6 dead bodies in the trunk! Which... I didn't.. of course *cougH*. Anyway... it was only a $1 loss.. and I had to kill my curiousity.. so for anybody else who might have been curious.. it _SUCKS_ lol. Ain't even worth losing $1.

Just as I thought. It would be interesting if you got a rheostat and wired it up inside the car... I'm sure you would basically just get a dynamically adjustable bog though. LOL Generally if you make more power with a given configuration you get better mileage. I'm sure Ford does their best to get the most mileage out of their cars.

Brave? You mean "stupid" I'm sure =). Oh well. Live & learn. I was curious. =) Even if it did add some HP (proven on a dyno) I don't think I'd keep it. Seems too risky messing with sensors.
