Message from Mayor

WELCOME TO SLAVE LAKE On behalf of the Town of Slave Lake, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our vibrant, progressive community. You will find Slave Lake to be a friendly town with an enhanced quality of life for locals and visitors alike. We also take pride in our tremendous volunteer efforts from our residents and the many facilities that make Slave Lake an attractive, enjoyable place to live. Located only 250 km north of Edmonton at the eastern end of Lesser Slave Lake, we have the best beaches in Alberta with miles of white sand. On the northern edge of Town, we have boat launch facilities, campgrounds and marinas. Additional campgrounds are only kilometres away in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park. Whether you enjoy taking a dip in the lake, world-class walleye and northern pike fishing, sailing, windsurfing, building sandcastles, hiking or birding, there?s something to inspire and rejuvenate people of all ages. The primary industries of Slave Lake are oil, gas and forestry. These industries, utilizing our natural resources, provide the backbone to our community. As well, Slave Lake is a great vacation spot and tourism is being promoted as another primary industry. Our active town has a wide diversity of retail outlets, established medical services and government agencies to better serve Slave Lake and the surrounding area. I hope you enjoy your visit and will come back again to take advantage of all the ?natural ingredients? Slave Lake is well known for. Yours very truly, Mayor Karina Pillay-Kinnee
