OK, this may be stupid, but is the power steering topped off? I've heard several weird sounds just from that situation.

I want to say "Yes" but I will have to check to be sure. Thanks for mentioning that.

Thanks. Oh, btw... email me your mailing address. I have these two coil packs that need to make their way back to you. Ended up ordering two of the Accel packs like you're using.

Thanks again for the loan of those parts. Helped prevent me from completely pulling out my hair.

Tungsten opined in news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com:

If it is ONLY noticable sitting still, it's likely a tie rod end (more pressure exerted)... if it did it both at rest and low speeds, likely ball joint

Try a very long screwdriver as a stethoscope while another turns the wheel.

jack it up so the front wheels are off the ground, with the engine off, then listen for the sound.

I've been told to get the Maximum Motorsports tie-rod ends *IF* it is indeed the culprit on my car. I suspect it is the more people I talk to.

Apparently MM has a better design than Ford did on their tie-rod ends.

Will keep everyone posted.

Yep... doing that this weekend when I service the car for next weekend's racing adventures.
