Rotating Thump/whump from suspension - Quest

Aug 01, 2004 2 Replies

My '93 Quest (120K miles) started producing a thump/whump from the front end. It's rotational, not severe, but definitely wrong. Comes on around 25mph, by about 45 it seems to be gone although I think it's just frequent enough that you don't feel the individual thumps at speed. Almost feels like a flat spotted tire, but I don't think that's the issue.

I plan to wiggle the front end and swap the tires around... but anyone have any specific idea on what might cause this ?

Thanks,

it is a bad tire

probably cord separation

Like NissTech suggested, it may be a bad tire. Find a dealer that performs "road force" tire balancing and the machine will be able to determine if you have a bad tire.
