Syntheic?

Does anyone use a Mobil 1 Syntheic Oil in their 3.5 SE ALtima. I have the new 2004 with V6. If not mobil any other brand of syntheic. Is there any performace, fuel ecomony, or life span benefits for using a syntheic or should i still with a good grade of dino oil. And if so which dino oil is best.

Synthetic oil is always better. Mobil 1 or Syntec are great.

I have a 1994 Honda Civic with about 350,000 km which I used Synthetic oils on since about 30,000 kms. The only things replaced on it was an oil pan (a huge rock damaged it) and the original battery about 3 years ago.

I also have a 2000 Nissan Altima with about 80,000 kms, used synthetic oils after about 14,000 kms. "Experts" say not to start using synthetic oils until after 10,000 kms.

I've used Mobil 1, Syntec, Quaker State, and Canadian Tire brand 5W30 synthetic oils without ANY problems. All great products, I usually get whatever oil is on sale.

Syntec is not a true synthetic and it left the non-wear surfaces in my Mustang coated with varnish. I plan to start my 3.5 V6 on Amsoil with the second change, only because I have a free change I got when I bought it.

Winndsor, is that something new nissan is doing now. Giving free oil changes with the purchase of a new nissan. I know i have a offer for my nissan to recive free oil change and transsimission flush for life of my ownership. I'm also doing research in Amsoil Oil also. IS i worth the extra $1.50 in cost per quart for this oil. If so, how long do you plan on running your car between oil changes on Amsoil. I have read and heard from dealer that Amsoil recommend 25000 miles/once a year changes but dealers say around

15-20000 between changes. Is it really worth the extra cost and above mobil

I got a cupon from my dealer for an oil change when I bought it. I change the oil in the Mustang one time each year and the filters every 6 months. The Series 2000 is rated for 35,000 miles or one year so I go one year which equaled about 9 to 11 thousand miles on it before I bought the Nissan. I will most likely follow the same schedual for it.
