405 reverse lights

Ok guys,

When i put my car into reverse (1993 Mk2 405 GLi 1.6) the reverse lights come on, all well and good, when i lift the clutch however the reverse lights go out, clutch down again, back come the reverse lights.

Any ideas?

Check the reverse switch on the gearbox. Make sure the wires to it aren't touching the clutch operating arm.
