'94 Grand Prix Light strength up and down...

Ok,

Any ideas out there? I have a 1994 Grand Prix SE, I've noticed lately that the headlights and internal lighting seems to flicker, as in it is bright and normal for a while then randomly dims a little, then comes back.

I'm thinking battery or alternator. Am I close?

Thanks in advance,

I'm thinking faulty headlight switch.... which may or may not be cheaper than a battery or altenator... where is the headlight switch located on that particular model??

William,

It is located on the far left side of the dashboard directly below the air vent.

Here is something else that has been occuring:

Occasionally I have the ABS light come on and stay on. And just recently the (P) (!) Parking lights have been coming on and staying on. The parking brake is NOT on.

Low voltage will trigger an ABS lamp.

I had the same car with the same symptoms about 3 years ago. I popped the hood and removed and improved ALL grounds to the chasie (and engine). It made a huge difference but did not solve the problem completely. Once you start looking you'll be surprised how bad some of them really are.

Good luck.
