This is stupid question, but did you check the bulbs?
Many vehicles have two switches. One for center light. The other one runs through the turn signal switch. Odds are the turn sig switch is bad.
checked light ok. turn light switch works both light oneach side come on then off. running light work its got to be that brake switch

Could be either. The brakes lights run through the turn sig switch. The turn sig portion may be good but at the non-turn position it is not making electrical contact and not allowing brake light power to feed through. Use a small 12v trouble light to make sure. Or jump the brake light switch.
