If you're thinking of replacing _just_ the CV joints, it will cost way too much - many hundreds of dollars. Instead, replace the entire half-shafts. Decent ones will cost from $60 to $100 per side. Add in axle nuts ($6 ea), oil seals ($9 ea), and from 1 to 2 hours of labor per side (if everything goes right). If you intend on keeping the car, you might as well replace hubs and hub grease seals at the same time.

Use a deep socket on the O2 sensor. Cut the wire off first. Use a slotted socket or plain old wrench to put the new one in. Use the conductive thread stuff that comes with it.
