Goodyear Eagle LS and tire squeak?

Once or twice I have noticed, with the windows down, slight tire squeak on low speed cornering and was wondering, after reading a few reviews at

if the Eagle LS tires are prone to squeaking on corners at low speeds?

Any experience with these tires?

These are the crappiest tires ever made by Goodyear. They came stock on my GrandPrix GT and sucked. I had them replaced with the Bridgestone 730 what a difference that made.

I'll "third" that, I had them on my Intrigue. My dad now owns the car, but despite being noisy they have pretty good all-season traction and appear to be holding up well.

I wonder if the GP also has the dreaded intermediate steering shaft issue of other W-bodies...

If so, it may need to be lubed again.

My tire sqeeks to on my 2000 GP GT. What is this the "dreaded intermediate steering shaft" issue?

The stock Goodyear GS-Cs on my Firebird were always good for a squeal in a low speed turn. However, the Firestone ZX-50s I am running now almost never squeak or squeal, even when I can feel some tire spin. Plus they have better wet road traction than the Goodyears.

It's important to tell whether it's coming from the tires or from the steering rack.

I have an Intrigue and when turning at low speed I can hear a squeak coming form the front end of the car. It's not the tires, because the noise is the same no matter the kind of pavement. Besides, about 2 months ago I dumped the Eagle LS for Yokohama Avid Touring (smooth and quiet for a bargain) and the noise is the same.

I'm not really sure if the noise comes from the rack, the PS hoses or the suspension mounts, though. However, it's often accompanied by a clunck in the steering wheel.

Any way, there's a TSB about the service relubing the ISS: 010232001B.

I believe it is not just the tires it has to be something else. The sound only happends when the wheels are slightly off center it makes a sqeeky noise the whole time while i am driving. The brakes and the routers were just done so i've ruled out that complety. What is the "Service relubing "?

I should have said the "relube service". Many steering racks were being replaced under warranty due to customer complaints about the noise, when GM thought that just making sure that the steering shaft was properly lubed would address the problem. And other who've done the same seem to agree. I'll have ot have it done too... :-/
