Spark plug wire resistance ?

Sep 20, 2004 4 Replies

Anyone know the typical maximum spark plug wire resistance ( longest wire ) for a '92 Bonneville w/standard V6 ? ( I imagine any year that has the '92 style ignition system is the same. )

12k is pushing it. If more than 15k, replace it.

Cold resistance is not a fail safe test however. If you can't scope the wire under load, you really don't know for sure if it's breaking down or not. GW

Yes. Thanks, I forgot to say, "measure while hot." A scope under load is the best way.
